Sustainable Development Through Cooperation: A Recap of the First Day of the 35th Karpacz Economic Forum
This year, the Karpacz Economic Forum is celebrating its 35th anniversary, once again reaffirming its position as one of the most important platforms for discussing the future of Central and Eastern Europe. The first day of the forum was marked by intense discussions, broad international representation, and a clear focus on practical solutions for regional development. The first day's program covered a broad spectrum of key topics: from the transformation of economic models to strengthening social capital in communities. Participants included international experts, local government officials, government representatives, and regional project managers, all united by the goal of sharing best practices and identifying new areas for synergy.
The Common Good Through Systemic Collaboration.
The central idea that resonated throughout most of the first day's discussions is clear: meaningful sustainable development is not possible in isolation. Current challenges require regions to move from fragmented initiatives to cross-sector partnerships, where business, education, communities, and local government operate under a unified framework. International experience shows that resilience arises where trust is built, human potential is nurtured, and circular economic linkages are maintained. It is precisely such partnerships that open up new opportunities for attracting investment and retaining active people in the regions.
Invitation to the RCOH Methodology Presentation
The team at the National Recycling Agency of Slovakia (NARA-SK) is proud to be part of this event. We are convinced that regional resilience is not just a theoretical concept, but a concrete management framework.

• 1:30 PM – 1:45 PM — Presentation: "RCOH Methodology: Practical Experience from Pilot Activities and its Application in Regional Development."
• 1:45 PM – 2:45 PM — Panel Discussion: "Regional Resilience Architecture: Regional Circular Economy Hubs as Catalysts for Sustainable Transformation." Moderator: Andriy Kytaiev (NARA-SK).
During the presentations, we will share practical experiences from pilot projects, introduce the three dimensions of RCOH capital (social, economic, and environmental), and demonstrate how the RCOH methodology helps regions not only launch projects but also sustain their results over the long term.
