NARA-SK presented the TOPE model at the TEXWASTE 2026 conference
On May 20, 2026, the 5th annual international professional conference TEXWASTE 2026 took place in Hradec Králové, which is one of the most important events focused on the circular economy, textile recycling and sustainable transformation of the textile industry. The conference brought together representatives of public administration, the business sector, research organizations and experts from several countries, who discussed current challenges and upcoming legislative changes in the field of textile waste management.
NARA-SK presented its experience with the development of regional solutions based on the principles of the circular economy. The main topic of the presentation was the TOPE model (Textile - Circular - Industrial - Ecosystem), which represents a systemic approach to the transformation of textile waste into new products, economic opportunities and jobs in the regions.
Participation in TEXWASTE 2026 was an opportunity for us to present Slovak experiences at the international level, establish new professional contacts and join the discussion on the future direction of the textile economy in Europe. The conference also confirmed that the future of the textile sector will be based on cooperation, innovation and practical solutions that can connect environmental, economic and social goals. The TOPE model is one of the tools to successfully put these principles into practice and support the sustainable development of regions.
